Farah Farhat is currently an MHsc candidate in the Translational Research Program at the University of Toronto and a recent graduate from the Health Sciences and Life Sciences programs at The University of Ottawa.

An avid learner and adventure lover, Farah explored different opportunities to contribute to the scientific research, medical, and dental fields during her undergraduate degree. As a research volunteer at the Taler Lab at uOttawa, she participated in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program and conducted a research project on the effects of bilingualism on working memory performance. And for her undergraduate advanced research project, she conducted a pilot study on the differences in prefrontal cortex activity in older adults with subjective cognitive decline and those without during dual task performance. Farah has also worked as a research assistant at the Bruyere Research Institute and as a research consultant for the Older Adult Centres' Association of Ontario (OACAO). In addition to her research experience, she has volunteered in various roles in different medical and dental environments, including as an IPAC Hygiene Auditor at the Toronto General Hospital, as a dental assistant volunteer at her local dental clinic, and as a Unit Support Worker at Saint Vincent Hospital in Ottawa.

Currently, Farah is a research assistant at CASCADES and Centre for Sustainable Health Systems, which focus on addressing the contribution of healthcare to climate change as well as leading an initiative to enable practice and policy change in order to create sustainable health services and systems.

In her free time, Farah loves to write poetry and practice the mindful craft of pottery.
